Riley Missel is an American writer, editor, and digital storyteller based in the Southwest. Currently, she works as a freelancer creating stories of all kinds, from short news items to in-depth gear reviews and features. 

She spent three years on staff for the Hearst Enthusiast Group as a features editor and test editor for Bicycling and Runner’s World magazines. She also works as an outdoor adventure guide leading hikes and bike rides.

Her byline has appeared in SELF, Sports Illustrated, Men's Journal, Lonely Planet, Outside, VeloNews, Cycling Weekly, Bicycling, Runner’s World, Popular Mechanics,  Men's Health, Road Bike Review, Mountain Bike Review, and Dirt Rag.
